Big Fullerton Housing Project In Question

by Orange County Developments on May 20, 2010

West Coyote Hills Fullerton image

What could be one of North Orange County’s largest new housing developments in nearly a decade has come under tough scrutiny by environmentalists and residents.  The plan calls for 760-homes and retail space in West Coyote Hills on the edge of Fullerton. The 510 acre site, which currently is home to an abandoned oil field, may see as many as 16 custom homes, 540 single family homes, and 204 townhomes.

Not only do environmentalists and others want to continue to see a wild, open nature preserve on at least part of the land, but city officials are still skeptical of the plan due to the current job and housing market. [click to continue…]

Homes for sale include those designed by such legendary names as  Rudolph Schindler and Frank Lloyd Wright. Naturally, these homes are commanding big price tags and therefore the sellers are biding their time, rather than giving up theses architectural gems at a discount. See just a few of these stunning homes below. [click to continue…]

New Tustin Condos to be Taken Off the Market

by Orange County Developments on March 25, 2009

Tustin Cottages image

The Tustin Cottages, a new neighborhood of townhomes in Tustin, are to be taken off the market and will likely be leased due to poor demand. After going up for sale in October 2008 and receiving lackluster interest and only low offers, it was decided that the new townhomes would be turned into rental property.

Thirty-three condos in total make up the cozy Tustin Cottages development. Before the decision of leasing emerged, the properties had reached a low of $400,000. Original prices ranged from $859,000 to $1,264,500. Relying on the appeal of neighborhood’s proximity to The District and The Market Place shopping centers and other Orange County locales, the development still has not been attractive enough to weather the depreciation of Orange County real estate.

Tustin Cottages interior imageRanging from approximately 1,582 to 2,042 square feet, the Tustin Cottages include as many as four bedrooms and three and one-half baths. Features include two-car garages, elegant baths, and available lofts. The community includes a pool, spa, outdoor fireplace, and a sparkling fountain.

With no buyers, new properties continue to struggle in the OC. In many cases, leasing the properties becomes the only option left as it’s unknown when the market will rebound. [click to continue…]

Shuttle Around Irvine Neighborhoods for Free

by Orange County Developments on November 2, 2008

The Irvine Business Complex is quickly shedding its reputation as housing only commercial and industry property. More recently the IBC has been building up its residential real estate offerings with developments such as Central Park West. But what many Irvine residents may not know is that they can even shuttle around Irvine during the week for free.

Irvine’s iShuttle offers three routes that take passengers around Irvine from 5:30 am to 7:00 pm during the week. For those who commute to or from the Irvine Business Center, two of the three routes originate at the Tustin train station. In addition to going to and from the train station, iShuttle routes also visit John Wayne Airport and circle around the center of the IBC.

For now, commuters can enjoy shuttling around Irvine for free. However, the free service has thus far been extended only until January 2009, so take advantage now. [click to continue…]
